Co dwa lata odbywa się konkurs Public Space European Prize - Europejska Nagroda za Miejską Przestrzeń Publiczną, który ma na celu uświadamiać rolę przestrzeni publicznej jako katalizatora życia miejskiego. Właśnie wystartowała edycja 2010.

Nagrodę przyznaje się jedynie za obiekty powstałe na terenie geograficznego regionu Rady Europy. Aby wziąć udział w konkursie prace muszą zostać zaprezentowane przez instytucje odpowiedzialne za ich powstanie lub przez ich autorów.

ceremonia wręczenia Nagrody 11 czerwca 2010 r.

TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE EUROPEAN PRIZE FOR URBAN PUBLIC SPACE

public space is the CCCB’s portal on the city and public space. With the European Prize for Urban Public Space as its core focus, the site offers information on the projects that have been presented for the Prize, texts by authors of reference and all the news on debates, exhibitions and festivals related with the CCCB’s work in the urban sphere.

Created in 2000 on the occasion of the exhibition “The Reconquest of Europe”, and about to be offered for the sixth time, the Prize now has a new website and a new graphic image. Over the last decade, the Prize has become known throughout Europe and has been gaining institutional support to the point that it now constitutes a gauge of the main concerns and initiatives in European urban planning. On this sixth occasion of the Prize’s being awarded, public space represents a privileged platform of 390 projects of transformation of space in 239 European cities, besides offering a good measure of critical reflection from the leading experts in the field of public space.
